About the Project
As students at Washington Latin, you have experience studying and learning about the language, culture and society of Ancient Rome. This project will allow you to explore the parts of studying Ancient Rome that you have found most exciting. While you will have a good deal of freedom and choice on this project, you will also need to manage your time and follow research deadlines independently.
Your task: You will identify an aspect of Ancient Roman civilization that is interesting to you from one of the following six: Government and Law, Important Places and Architecture, Entertainment and Arts, Technology and Medicine, Education, Women and Social Classes. Then, you will narrow down that theme to a more specific area of interest.
Your final product will be a five-paragraph research paper in MLA format that answers the question: In what ways was/were (your topic) significant in Ancient Roman civilization?
Here are the important due dates for this project. Any changes will be announced in class and updated here.
